Your Obsidian vault as a browsable library. Build your shelves, bind your books, and read with a ribbon keeping your place. The files never move.

One note can sit in a yearbook, a person’s volume and a tag’s anthology at the same time. Each book is another way into the same vault.

Scroll through the library, open a book, use its index, read a note and leave a ribbon, return to the top, drag a book onto Favourites, create a book, choose its binding and colour, and change the binding and colour of a plaque’s run

Open a book, search the library and build a shelf in a vault of invented notes. The demo is a standalone export; your changes stay in this browser. The plugin reads your own vault inside Obsidian.

Build, collect, read

Start with Favourites, Encyclopedia, Years, Months, People and Tags. Make more shelves from folders, dates or any note property. Arrange books by hand, choose among six leather bindings and fourteen colours, and open a plaque to read its whole run.

Read a two-page spread with contents and index tabs. Choose A–Z, Date or Number, follow links between collections, or push past the end of a note to turn the page. Ribbons and the Reading shelf bring you back to the notes you saved.

Install

Download the three plugin files from the latest release and follow the install steps.

Vault Shelf writes nothing to your notes and makes no network requests. Dates and people come from declared metadata; missing values get their own books. An optional file-date fallback helps organise notes without a date property or dated title.
